n. a condition characterized by spontaneous gross motor activity or restlessness that is excessive for the age of the individual. Although a prominent feature of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, it is not diagnostic of any particular disorder and must be correlated with other findings to identify the appropriate diagnosis.
