histogram

n. a graphical depiction of continuous data using bars of varying height, similar to a bar graph but with blocks on the x-axis adjoining one another so as to denote their continuous nature. For example, to show the average credit card debt of individuals, bars along the x-axis would represent amount of debt and would be connected to one another, while the heights of the bars would represent the number or frequency of individuals with each debt amount.
